FutBalance 2.2.1 · 1.2.1: Better team editing experience, smarter match date and more

May 13, 2026

Version 2.2.1 on web and 1.2.1 on iOS and Android brings some of the most requested usability improvements: the team generator no longer loses your work when you switch apps, the default date when creating a match is smarter, the text when sharing a match now includes the venue and time, and MVP statistics respect the active voting window. A duplicate MVP notification has also been fixed.

FutBalance 2.2.1 · 1.2.1 - What's new

📋 Teams are preserved when you switch apps

One of the most frustrating moments was switching to WhatsApp to check team suggestions, then coming back to find the dashboard had reloaded and all your work was gone. From now on, the team generator automatically saves its state while you work: selected players, generated teams, and whether you were in edit mode. When you return to the app, everything is exactly where you left it.

The state is stored for the current app session only (it doesn't persist across full app restarts, to avoid stale data) and is automatically cleared when you create the match, keeping everything tidy for next time.

📅 Match date: defaults to 4 hours from now

When creating a new match, the date and time picker no longer shows the current time or a past date. It now automatically pre-selects 4 hours from the current time, rounded up to the next full hour. It's far more common to plan a match in advance than to create it the moment it starts, so this change avoids having to adjust the date manually in the vast majority of cases.

📍 Match sharing: venue and time in the message

When you share a match image via WhatsApp or other apps, the text that accompanies the image now shows the match venue and date/time directly. Previously it showed the generic message "Check out this match!", which said nothing. Now the recipient sees at a glance where and when the match is, without even opening the image.

🏆 MVP stats: respect the voting window

Previously, MVP votes for a match appeared in the statistics and Hall of Fame as soon as the match was played, even if voting was still open. This could reveal the winner before everyone had voted. MVP statistics for a match are now not counted until the voting window closes (24 hours after the match), keeping the suspense until the end.

🔔 Fix: MVP winner notification no longer sent twice

A bug causing the MVP result notification to be sent twice has been fixed. You will now receive exactly one notification with the winner when voting closes.

🔒 Database security improvements

This version includes several internal security improvements: database functions only accessible from server infrastructure are no longer exposed in the public API, table access policies are more precise, and the linked players view uses the most secure permission model available. These changes don't affect any visible functionality but strengthen the protection of all users' data.
